In addition DMD are actively involved with developing standards for Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA).
Standards include many City Bylaws and government standards for the design and maintenance of lighting, signals and electrical systems.
DMD have developed and published standards for lighting and signal poles, foundations, signal heads, LED lighting, underground junction boxes (hand-holes), traffic controllers, service cabinets and kiosks, etc. We have also undertaken extensive product review and evaluated product testing. We have worked with numerous suppliers t o develop and refine products used throughout the industry.
DMD electrical specialists have assisted communities and local and regional transportation agencies to develop standards that streamline the design process, improve quality and consistency, and simplify maintenance needs. Our seasoned staff works closely with owners and other stakeholders to ensure that deliverables provide needed guidance without compromising the need for innovation and adaptation for special situations.
In producing these documents DMD have outstanding expertise in developing graphics, figures and tables. DMD have developed a strong reputation for developing high quality documents. We also have excellent document production and editing specialists to aid in document development. We can produce print or electronic documents. Where standard detail drawings are required we utilize AutoCAD to produce them.
DMD staff work closely with jurisdictions to review and define options and best practices. We in fact educate or client as we develop the standards so they have sound understanding and can properly enforce them. In some cases, DMD assist in providing technical expertise and design review services to the jurisdiction after the standards are implemented.
