DMD, as part of the BA Blacktop design-build team, were awarded a 2015 Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI) Award of Excellence for the Roberts Bank Rail Corridor (RBRC) Combo Project.
The RBRC Combo Project was an $88 million dollar design-build project delivered by the City of Surrey which included three new grade separated overpass structures spanning an active rail line and the high traffic volume Highway 10 corridor.
The main goals of this project was to improve traffic safety, traffic flows and emergency vehicle access while reducing traffic delays and train whistles due to the at grade train crossings.
DMD provided the Electrical Engineering for the project, which included 8 traffic signals, ITS ducting across all bridges, approximately 6km of roadway lighting along with some pathway lighting, all to meet the required Ministry of Transportation, City of Langley, Township of Langley and City of Surrey standards.
