The City of Trail is pleased to announce it has received the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA) 2018 Parks Excellence Award for the Columbia River Skywalk project.
DMD undertook the design of the electrical system on this project which included LED walkway lighting and the design of a full colour changing LED theatrical type lighting system with DMX control to highlight the structure and cables. The bridge was designed by COWI and features single-leg tower pole masts , a deck, cables, and lighting. The bridge is 305 metres (1000 feet) long; one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in North America.
