A light-emitting diode, or LED, is a type of solid-state lighting that uses a semiconductor to convert electricity into light. Today’s LED bulbs can be six-seven times more energy efficient than conventional incandescent lights and cut energy use by more than 80 percent. A natural part of our culture at DMD is Training & Development. As a DMD employee, we have the option to participate in different training opportunities such as conferences, seminars, webinars, mentorship groups and in-house training sessions. We hold in-house “Lunch & Learn” training sessions that are open to all employees, no matter the job they hold at DMD. These training sessions range from a variety of different topics relating to soft skills or technical lessons. Through a competitive selection process, the City selected DMD to research and provide technical expertise related to outdoor lighting on private and public property in the City of Vancouver.
